Talk “The Asturian Caminos de Santiago. History and Heritage”

The Camino de Santiago, since its appearance in the 9th century through the Primitive Way initiated by Alfonso II from Oviedo to the tomb of the apostle, became an itinerary of cultural exchanges and connection with various territories, thus initiating a Europeanist character that it maintains today. Along the Way we find a huge historical, artistic and cultural heritage, both material and intangible, which make part of Cultural Landscape. It is therefore a Cultural Landscape of the first order, a journey through the history and heritage of Asturias through the pilgrim’s vision.

Talk by Manuel Antonio Huerta Nuño. Geographer.
